What’s the plan re: Covid?
Most of the wedding will take place outdoors. Shortly before the wedding, we will ask you to send us an email with attached PROOF OF VAX and a NEGATIVE RAPID TEST taken anytime in the 24 hours up to your arrival at camp. We know this is annoying and we know we can't prevent all transmission at this decidedly low point in human history, but we want to keep everyone as healthy as possible. What should I bring to camp? -We now have everyone covered on the linens/pillows front, but if you get cold at night, please bring an extra blanket for yourself! -A bathing suit. -If you're driving in, please bring a towel. If you're flying, we have a towel for you. -Bug spray, sunscreen, anything else you need to fend off elements -Warm clothes to sleep in (it can get chilly at night) -If you forget something, it's okay, there's a Walmart in town What should I wear to camp? -Friday night (Welcome BBQ): "CASUAL." wear jeans! wear shorts! wear a giant t-shirt with a wolf on it! (make sure to bring a sweater or jacket with you, because we're outside each night and it can get a bit chilly sometimes. although sometimes it's really hot. i know, and i am sorry.) -Saturday night (Rehearsal Dinner): Has been described by some (us) as "THE THING RIGHT BEFORE COCKTAIL" but could also be described as "A STEP UP FROM CASUAL" or " A LIFE-AFFIRMING STEP TO THE SIDE FROM FUNERALWEAR" or "A VEHEMENT REBUKE TO BUSINESS CASUAL" — a cute dress, interesting "slacks"?? , just something generally festive. if you would like more specific direction here, adam and i will be wearing outfits that have a gentle '70s-disco-boogie-nights vibe, because why not. we encourage you to do the same if you so desire, as a way to immerse yourself in a thrilling evening of speeches and karaoke. basically...just get a fit off. -Sunday night (Wedding!): "WOODSY COCKTAIL." this is just normal cocktail wedding attire, but just make sure you can walk for like four minutes on grass without incidentally harming yourself or your loved ones (most of this night will take place inside a tent on a tennis court, but the ceremony is outside near a lake in a grassy area). Can I bring my kids or dogs? No. We love your kids and dogs, but we want everyone to relax and enjoy themselves in an adult manner, and not have to worry about their babies sprinting into the lake in the middle of the night. Why are you getting married now? A lot of people have asked us this question. So we wanted to put it here. What do we do at camp all day? -Swim/waterski -Canoe/sail/pontoon/kayak/sit in a ski boat and drink while other people ski and you smile and wave at them (Rachel's preferred activity) -Shoot arrows -Lie down -Climb walls -Throw balls -Eat -Drink -Sit in fields -Scare each other Is the camp actually spooky? This depends on your personal definition of “spooky,” as well as your imagination’s ability to run wild at the slightest suggestion of paranormal intrigue. Here’s a little quiz to figure out if the camp will spook you: 1) do you like scary movies? A: yes B: no 2) how often do you get up to pee in the middle of the night? A: never B: at least once 3) are you a ghost? A: yes B: no 4) have you ever seen a person run out of the woods, but their head is actually the size of a watermelon?
